Heather Rogers, MSEd., MT-BC,  Neurologic Music Therapist​​

Owner, Music Therapist-Board Certified, Baby Signing Time Instructor, Practicum Supervisor, Internship Director

It Is Music Time LLC was founded by Heather (Palmer) in 2016.  Heather is a board certified music therapist who has worked primarily with individuals with disabilities.  She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Heidelberg College and during her final teaching experience she had the opportunity to work with at risk students and saw the power of music which lead her to a career in music therapy.  Heather continued her education at Indiana University - Purdue University, Fort Wayne where she received her Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy, Minor in Psychology, and Gerontology Certificate.  She went on to complete her training in Kindermusik providing additional training in ages 0-8.  Heather complete her Masters of Education in Special Education in so that she could better advocate for her client's needs and create academic programs target to fit their learning styles. Heather became a Baby Signing Time Instructor after hearing stories from families who's children learn to speak and sign through the DVDs. Heather completed her neurologic music therapy training in June 2020 through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. Heather has recently started incorporating the NMT approach into her sessions.
Heather began working with individuals with a variety of disabilities in 2004 and has been providing home and community based music therapy through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver since 2007.  She has experience working with individuals with autism, down syndrome, speech impairments, hearing impairments, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disabilities. Her work with disabilities lead her to publish several Ebooks on music therapy and other resources for individuals with disabilities.  She developed the You Can Strum guitar books to assist those with fine motor difficulties to be able to play the guitar..

​Music making is very important to her and in her free time Heather she enjoys playing piccolo, C flute, alto flute in with the Fort Wayne Flute Choir,  Native American flute and the bowed psaltery.  She is also a performer with Audiences Unlimited Inc where she performs in nursing homes and assisted living facilities around Northeast Indiana. As an Audience Unlimited artist, Heather is the program developer for their Music Enrichment Program at Life Adult Day Academy, where Heather leads their choir and Thursday ME program. Heather also sings in her church holiday choir in Roanoke.

Heather believes that there is nothing more precious than sharing the gift of music to facilitate growth, communication, and development through music.  She is dedicated to providing individualized services to help increase independence and communication using whatever means possible to help them to achieve their goals.

Maurizio Emanuele, MT-BC

Maurizio enjoys working with a diverse population, and works in the Northeastern counties of Indiana. Maurizio began music lessons at age four and learned to play the accordion, piano, violin, mandolin, electronic keyboard and guitar. Maurizio attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Therapy in 2005. During his tenure at Michigan State University, Maurizio performed the violin with MSU's Philharmonic Orchestra. Maurizio completed his music therapy internship at Lincoln Park Public Schools in Lincoln Park, MI and then continued his music therapy career at Wyandotte Public Schools in Michigan. Since the fall of 2011, Maurizio has worked in Indiana's Medicaid Waiver system. Maurizio chose music therapy as a profession because he appreciates how music therapy interventions may integrate the senses of hearing, sight, touch, and movement simultaneously in the process of training client-centered goals and objectives.
